2020 youth Summer camps (where friendships are forged)
Now that we've been given the green light by the Regional Public Health Unit, the Niagara Rowing School and Paddlesports Centre will again be offering to kids ages 9 - 15 the opportunity to learn paddlesports skills in one of our weekly summer camps. The camps will be fully compliant with the Ministry of Health Covid-19 Guidelines regarding Summer Day Camps. Each week the kids will get to enjoy in a fun filled environment the following paddlesport activities:
Stand Up Paddleboarding
(due to Covid-19 rowing and dragon boating cannot be offered this year)
Camps will run Monday to Friday from 8:30 - noon. Kids can be dropped off from 8:00 - 8:30, and picked up by 12:30. Instructions will be provided to parents/guardians of the camp participants on what needs to be done prior to the commencement of the camp regarding Covid screening
The weekly camps will run: Camp 1 - July 20 - 24 Camp 2 August 10 - 14 Camp 3 August 17 - 21 Each day will start out with instructions on water safety. All participant will be required to wear a lifejacket at all times while on the water. Social distancing will be practiced during camp hours
Through the balance of the day kids will enjoy a paddlesport activity. Should the weather not permit on-water activities, kids will get to enjoy a variety of fun on-land activities.
We will have a student to counselor ratio of 5:1, with a maximum number of students per session capped at 16.
