Learn to Row Classes for beginners: They will learn the basics of “sweep rowing” which is done in 4 or 8 person rowing shells. Each person pulls on one oar in these 43’ or 58’ boats, steered and guided by an extra person known as a coxswain or “coxie” in the stern of the boat. The first lesson is on dry land as all rowers learn the parts of the boat, rowing terminology, the essentials of the stroke, how to carry the boat to the dock and place in the water, and safety lessons. In eight more lessons on the water, you will enjoy the camaraderie of fellow rowers, build self confidence, appreciate the efforts of teamwork, and command great respect for rowers from the high school level up to the Olympics. - Price $150
